Live 1v1 push-up duels Both phones on the floor. Both cameras counting.

PushRank is a push-up counter that duels back. Challenge a friend or get matched with someone at your level, then watch one scoreboard move while both cameras count. The winner takes the rank.

Free on the App Store, for iPhone on iOS 17 or later. PushRank Pro unlocks the counter, the league, duels and the app lock, and starts with a free trial.

Full reps only
No lockout, no count
On your device
Video never leaves it
Every Monday
A new season starts
The end of a duel: You won, 8 to 6 against Marcus R., a new personal best of 8 reps, the set's time, form score and reps per minute, and a Rematch button. Two tapped reactions sit above it, Respect and Nice one.

The duel

Live 1v1 duels: someone is on the floor right now, and they are counting too

Tap a friend who is active, or run a live search. Both phones start together on a server clock, and from then on there is one scoreboard with two numbers on it.

A real search, with a real limit
The search runs up to 90 seconds and opens up as it waits. It starts inside 30 percent of the stronger player's best set, widens to 60, then 100, then anyone.
One countdown for two rooms
The start time comes from the server with a 4.5 second lead, so the slower connection still gets a full countdown. The other score refreshes about every 1.5 seconds.
Nobody live? Race a recorded set
A real opponent's real rep timeline plays back, rep for rep. The screen tells you that is what you got.
No video crosses the wire
Rep times, a name, an avatar and reaction keys. That is the entire payload. Your camera stays your business.
Losing on purpose is not a thing
Quitting and dropping out settle the same way, and a duel where nobody did a rep is void for both sides. There is no walkover to farm.
Then demand a rematch
One tap from the result screen, and a running record of your last 50 duels with wins, losses and draws.

Trash talk is eight fixed taps, translated into whatever language the other person reads in. Six per side per duel, four seconds apart. There is no free text field, so there is nothing to moderate and nothing to receive at three in the morning.

The count

A push-up counter that refuses half reps. No lockout, no count.

Put the phone on the floor, get into plank, and hold it for a second and a bit. The countdown starts itself. From there the camera is the referee, and it is not a generous one.

  • 90°

    or lower at the elbow

Anything shallower is not a rep. Coming back up stops at 150 degrees.

  • 25°

    of body line, at most

Hips up, hips down, and the rep does not count no matter how deep it went.

  • 0.3s

    to 4 seconds per rep

Faster is a bounce, slower is a rest. Both are dropped where they happen.

Facing the camera head on there are no angles to measure, so it watches how far you travel instead: down to 0.62 of your own full extension, back up to 0.94. Your arm length and your distance from the phone cancel out.

Then it is verified again, by something that cannot see you

The phone never sends a total
It sends when each rep happened. The server counts them itself, so the number on your screen is a claim and the number on the board is a verdict.
350 milliseconds is the floor
Two reps closer together than that are not two reps, and the set is refused.
Too regular is also a tell
Human reps wander. Once there are eight intervals to look at, a rhythm steadier than four percent reads as a machine and is thrown out.
A refused set is kept, with its reason
There are eight named reasons and you get told which one. Silently dropping a set is how a counting bug becomes unfindable.
The build breaks before you see it
Every change to the counter is replayed against real footage, including footage of somebody deliberately cheating. If the counts move, it does not ship.
Nothing to leak
The pose AI runs on your iPhone. No frame and no joint ever leaves it, and the counter screen even switches off the app's own analytics recording.
The PushRank counter mid-set: a live skeleton overlay traced on the person's shoulders, elbows and wrists, with the rep count and a per-minute rate over it.

Every set gets a form score

Out of 100, and it says what it is made of: depth is 45 percent of it, body line 30, and how evenly you paced yourself the last 25.

The league

A weekly league of six tiers, and everyone's week ends at the same second

One season for everybody, Monday to Sunday in UTC. Not a rolling window, not your personal seven days. When it closes, it closes for every cluster at the same instant.

  1. Bronze
  2. Silver
  3. Gold
  4. Platinum
  5. Diamond
  6. Champion
A room of about thirty
You are not ranked against the world, you are ranked against a cluster you can actually read to the bottom of.
Up to five up, up to five down
In a full room that is five promoted and five relegated. In a thin one it scales down, because promoting a quarter of eight people is not a league.
Volume wins, best set breaks ties
Total reps for the week decide it. When two people finish level, the bigger single set takes the higher place.
Your first season cannot demote you
It can only move you up. Learning where you stand should not cost you anything.
Zero reps is never a promotion
An idle cluster promotes nobody. You cannot rise by waiting for a quiet week.
Your first set places you
Fifteen puts you in Silver, twenty-five in Gold. Platinum and everything above it has to be climbed.

Twenty-four hours before a season closes you get told once, and once only. Fifty-two finished seasons stay in your profile. Only standard push-ups are ranked, so knee and incline sets still count toward your day and your streak but never toward the board.

The PushRank promotion screen: a glowing gold shield, the word Promoted, Silver to Gold, and the week's finishing numbers below it.
The PushRank shield standing in front of a blocked app. It reads 24 push-ups left, and your apps come back as soon as today's goal is done.

The app lock

Your apps unlock when the day's push-ups are done

Not a meter. Not one push-up for one minute. You pick what gets locked, you finish the reps, and the shield drops the moment you hit the number. The rest of the day is yours.

You choose, and nothing else moves
Apps and categories, including web categories in Safari. Everything you did not pick is untouched.
The shield shows the price
Tap a locked app and it tells you exactly what is left. Tap the notification and you are in the counter.
Hours you set, not hours we set
Several windows a day, specific weekdays, and windows that run past midnight. It keeps working when the app is closed.
The way out always works
An emergency unlock for 15, 30 or 60 minutes. It is never refused, it expires by itself, and the shield comes back on its own.
We cannot see what you locked
Apple hands over opaque tokens, not app names. PushRank knows how many you picked and nothing else, and it says so on screen.
The off switch is never locked
You can turn the whole thing off at any moment. A lock you cannot leave is not a habit, it is a hostage situation.

The rest of it

What keeps you coming back on the days nobody challenges you

The duel is the reason you install it. These are the reasons it is still on your phone in March.

  • A streak that plays fair

It counts days you met the goal, and today's unfinished day never breaks it. The default goal is 50 reps, and you can move it.

  • 23 badges, four ladders

From a first set of ten to fifty thousand lifetime reps. They are worked out from your numbers every time they are drawn, so a reinstall brings them all back.

  • Four widgets

Today's ring, the activity grid, your live league place with the reps to promotion, and a Lock Screen widget for the number that matters.

  • Progress you can argue with

A week, a month, three months or everything, each measured against the stretch before it, with a note saying what changed.

  • Written to Apple Health

Every set lands as a real workout. Write only: PushRank never reads anything back out of Health.

  • 17 languages

Switched inside the app rather than by changing your phone, right to left included. Even the lock shield speaks the language you picked.

  • An account is only for other people

Counting, streaks, badges and widgets never ask who you are. Signing in is for the league, friends and duels, because those need somebody on the other side.

  • Report and block, free

Two taps on any profile, and the first reason offered is faking their reps. Deliberately not behind the subscription.

  • The PushRank home screen: today's reps against the goal, a week of rings, best set, average form, league place and a day-by-day activity grid.
  • The league screen: six tiers with Gold selected, time left in the season, a podium of the top three and the ranked list below.
  • A finished set: six reps, eighteen to go today, with the set's time, form score and reps per minute.
  • The progress screen: this week's reps against the weekly goal, a twelve day streak and a three month chart of reps per day.
  • The friends leaderboard, ranked by reps this week, with each friend's best single set underneath their name.

Questions

The push-up app questions people actually ask

Does it actually count push-ups, or does it just count movement?
It counts push-ups. A rep has to reach 90 degrees at the elbow and come back up past 150, your body has to stay within 25 degrees of a straight line, and the whole rep has to take between 0.3 and 4 seconds. Half reps, bounces and arm waving do not survive those rules. Facing the camera head on it measures how far you travel instead of angles: down to 0.62 of your own full extension and back up to 0.94.
Where do I put my phone?
On the floor, in front of you or off to one side, propped up or flat. Get into the top of a push-up and hold it for just over a second, and the countdown starts on its own. There is no button to press, and a max set ends itself after ten seconds without a rep.
Does my video get uploaded?
No. Pose detection runs entirely on your iPhone. No frame and no joint position ever leaves the device. What gets sent when you submit a set is the time each rep happened, the form score, which variant you did and when the set started and ended. Like most apps, PushRank does use analytics elsewhere to see which screens work, and while the counter is on screen it pauses that recording too.
Are the duels really live?
Yes. Both phones get their start time from the server with a 4.5 second lead so the slower connection still gets a countdown, both cameras count locally, and each side's score refreshes about every one and a half seconds. No video crosses the wire, only rep times, a name, an avatar and reaction keys.
What happens if nobody is around to duel?
The live search runs for up to 90 seconds, widening the skill band as it waits. If it comes up empty you can challenge a friend, or race a recorded set: a real opponent's real rep timeline, played back rep for rep. The screen tells you that is what you got.
How does the league work?
Six tiers from Bronze to Champion. You sit in a cluster of about thirty people, ranked on total reps for the week with the biggest single set breaking ties. Up to five are promoted and up to five relegated when the season closes, Sunday into Monday, at the same instant everywhere. Your first season can only move you up, and nobody is ever promoted on zero reps.
Can I cheat my way up the board?
The phone never sends a total, only when each rep happened, and the server counts them itself. Reps closer together than 350 milliseconds are refused. So is a rhythm steadier than four percent, once there are eight intervals to judge, because human reps wander and metronomes do not. Refused sets are kept with a named reason rather than silently dropped.
What does the app lock block, and can I get out of it?
You choose the apps and categories, including web categories in Safari, and nothing you did not pick is touched. They stay shielded until the day's push-up goal is done, then unlock themselves. There is an emergency unlock for 15, 30 or 60 minutes that is never refused and expires on its own, and you can switch the whole feature off whenever you like. It is built on Apple's own Screen Time controls, and because Apple hands apps over as opaque tokens, PushRank can see how many you locked but not which ones.
Do I need an account?
Counting, streaks, badges and widgets never ask who you are. The league, friends and duels need a sign-in, because they need somebody on the other side. Signing in is Apple or Google, and you can delete your account from inside the app.
What does it cost?
PushRank is free to download and it starts with a free trial. After that it is one subscription, PushRank Pro, and it covers everything: counting a set, the league, live duels and the app lock. There are no tiers and no add-ons. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, it renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and you can manage or cancel it any time in Settings. The price is shown in the app in your own currency before you commit.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone on iOS 17 or later. The app is 25.2 MB, works in 17 languages with the switcher inside the app, and writes every set to Apple Health as a workout.
Is there an Android version?
No. PushRank is an iPhone app on iOS 17 or later. The counting runs on the iPhone camera and the app lock is built on Apple's own Screen Time controls, so both halves of it are tied to iOS.

The next season starts on Monday

Do one set today and your best one puts you where you belong. Everything after that is between you and whoever is in your cluster.
